Radon mitigation
A radon system designed for your home, with radon levels guaranteed below 100 Bq/m³
We measure how air moves under your home before we design anything, install an efficient system built to run as quietly as possible, usually in a single day, and then monitor it for you. Every system includes the first year of Radon Shield™ MONITOR, and radon levels are guaranteed below 100 Bq/m³ for as long as your Radon Shield™ MONITOR or MANAGE plan is active.
We don't walk away
Excellent experience! We have a large bi-level split with a basement, slab-on-grade, and living space over the garage, so we expected to need three radon mitigation systems. The technicians skillfully installed a single system into the weeping tile, which communicated beneath the entire house, eliminating the need for the other two systems. The result was a 98% reduction in radon levels throughout our home, along with significant cost savings. Professional, knowledgeable, and highly recommended!
Radon Repair were great from start to finish. We had a somewhat complicated case, and they did not stop until they had it figured out and our radon levels successfully reduced. Every single team member was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Thank you Jeff and all the team at Radon Repair!
A big shout out of THANKS to radon repair for solving our radon problems! We were a difficult case to solve, as our radon levels did not come down as far as they wanted them to be. But they persisted, and kept at it, and eventually they did discover what the problem was and did the repair! ... Fabulous service, and great people to deal with. We highly recommend them! Very professional and awesome to deal with!

Active soil depressurization: the most trusted and effective solution
Radon gets pulled into your home because the air pressure in your basement is lower than under your floor. We reverse that. By adding suction under the slab, we reach the radon trapped beneath your floor and give it a new path of least resistance: into our pipe, through the fan and outside, where it should have gone in the first place. We place the exhaust with clearances away from windows, doors and other spots where radon could re-enter your home.

Every system runs on the newest radon fan technology. Fantech EC fans have built-in controls, so we dial them in to your home's exact needs: more suction where it's needed, less power and noise where it isn't. We pair them with RadonX pipe by IPEX and vibration-isolating parts, for a system that's quiet, efficient and built to last. Every step, from diagnostics and design to installation, is led by C-NRPP certified professionals.

Pressure field extension diagnostics
Every home is different under the floor. Before we design your system, we measure how air moves under your slab. It's the difference between a system that's guessed at and one designed for your home.
- We drill small holes and measure the air pressure under your slab with digital micromanometers, then seal the holes when we're done
- We see how far suction reaches under your floor, and how air moves through the substrate under your slab
- The results point us to the best location for your suction point, and the amount of suction needed to reduce your home's radon
- We uncover the unknowns early: tight soil, a high water table or hidden air leaks
- We don't oversize: a fan that's too big wastes power and can risk backdrafting fuel-burning appliances
- We dial in your Fantech EC fan to be as energy efficient and quiet as possible

What to expect
From consultation to monitoring
1Your free consultationIn Greater Moncton and southeastern New Brunswick, we can come to your home. Farther away, we start with a video call. We review your test results and look at your home, then give you a detailed quote with clear expectations, so there are no surprises.

3We roll out the red carpetFloors protected from the door to the work area. Our C-NRPP certified team confirms the best location for the system and the exhaust with you.
4Diagnostics before designWe measure the pressure under your slab and how air moves beneath your home. That tells us where to put the suction point and which fan to use, without oversizing it. Sometimes we spend more time on diagnostics than on the install.
5Install, usually in a single dayA high-efficiency Fantech fan dialled in to your home's needs, sealed entry points and a neat exterior exhaust. We walk you through everything before we leave.

Honest expectations
Some homes are more complex.
It's impossible to know how air will flow under your floor until we do diagnostics. If we find something unexpected, like compacted soil, water or hidden air leakage, we stop, explain it and offer solutions. Sometimes the fix is easy, and sometimes it's more challenging. Either way, we make sure you understand what to expect, and we don't walk away.
Clear gravel or tight soil changes how air moves.
High groundwater can limit airflow.
Air gaps, like a floor-wall joint hidden behind finished walls.
A second radon source, like radon in well water, or attached slabs.
No concrete floor? No problem.
Crawl space encapsulation and sub-membrane systems
We install a sealed membrane over the dirt or gravel, then draw radon from underneath it, the same way a system works under a slab.
Moisture and humidity: the same encapsulation and sub-membrane venting also helps control moisture, humidity and other soil gases coming up from the ground.
During: the membrane goes down
After: sealed to the walls and around every post

Questions homeowners ask
How long does the install take?
Usually a single day. Some homes are more complex and need more diagnostics or additional work. We'll know once we've done the pressure field extension diagnostics at your home, and we'll explain what's needed, the timeline and the cost before we go any further.
Will the fan be noisy?
We do everything we can to keep it as quiet as possible: vibration-isolating couplers, rubber-lined fasteners, an exhaust muffler, and fans we can dial down. What's under your floor decides how hard the fan has to work, and that part we can't control. We always make sure there's enough suction to bring your radon down, then set the fan as quietly as that allows.
How much does it cost?
We'll give you the cost at your free consultation, because every home is different. Health Canada says mitigation typically lowers radon by more than 90%, at a cost similar to other common home improvements.
Is the result guaranteed?
Yes. Radon levels are guaranteed below 100 Bq/m³ for as long as your Radon Shield™ MONITOR or MANAGE plan is active. This applies to systems we install. Full terms are included with your quote.
My level is close to 200. Do I need a system?
If your home was tested properly, with a long-term test of at least 91 days, Health Canada recommends reducing radon when levels are above 200 Bq/m³, and keeping levels as low as reasonably achievable. For comparison, the United States action level is 148 Bq/m³, and the World Health Organization recommends a reference level of 100 Bq/m³.
It's always your decision. Many of our clients choose to mitigate below 200. Our advice is always free.

Do you work on crawl spaces and dirt floors?
Yes. We encapsulate the crawl space with a sealed membrane over the dirt or gravel and vent underneath it. Along with radon, it helps control moisture, humidity and other soil gases coming up from the ground.
What do I need to do after the install?
Keep the system powered on, and don't alter it or the monitor. Test your sump pump regularly, and keep caulking and seals around pipes in good shape. Planning foundation work, major renovations or new windows? Call us first: they can change how your home behaves, and they can affect your guarantee.
Want us to look after it? With Radon Shield™ MANAGE, we come back every year for a full maintenance visit with our 21-point system inspection, including air exchanger/HRV cleaning when applicable, and a written report on what we found.
